The Big Top comes to Big Ben.
The Association of Circus Proprietors of Great Britain held a unique gathering in the members dinning room inside the House of Commons on Monday 19th May were over 100 MP’s were in attendance.
MP Peter Luff who has supported the Circus industry in the UK for many years organized the event.
Circus is one of the oldest traditional forms of entertainment in the world and Circus as we know it was created right here in the UK by Phillip Astley in 1768.
The ACP were launching a new brochure, DVD & website to celebrate being recognized as the official voice of Circus in the UK, its members include fantastic cultural Circuses currently touring the UK to famous names in British Circus to the more contemporary & alternative British Circuses.
The member’s dining room was spectacularly transformed into a magical Circus wonderland in a way never
before seen in The Houses of Parliament. In addition to speeches from
Peter Luff & Shadow Culture Secretary Jeremy Hunt there were sensational performances
from Circus artistes from Mongolia, Spain, China & Argentina as well as British Ringmaster Norman Barrett
& 2 exquisitely attired show girls.
